Long Island Resident's Newly Created Independent TV Show's Web Site To Debut In February; Chat Live With Cast Of Almost Home
New York, 2/1 -- Angela de la Bastide, a Long Island resident, has created the "Almost Home Fan Site" (www.almosthome.tvheaven.com), a site devoted specifically to her newly created independent TV show, which will begin airing on Manhattan Neighborhood Network in July.de la Bastide's web site provides information on the show, the actors, and the shows' writer/creator. The show's catchy and promising premise is based around the lead character, Rachel Marks, a strong, smart and independent woman (29) who leaves Washington DC where she worked as a FBI agent to move home to Chestnut Hill, MA. to look after her younger sisters after their mother, a prestigious lawyer, takes a media frenzied case overseas. Rachel now must face childhood memories, deal with family problems relating to her two younger sisters (Haley Marks, 16 and Sam Marks, 24), new job burdens and other extenuating circumstances. The lead, Rachel Marks, will be played by Gina Mastlyn who has an impressive and extensive theatre and independent film/TV background, and was most recently seen as "Marty" in GREASE! and "Marla Mermelstein" in the New York Dinner Theatre's "The Godfather's Mushuggener Wedding." Her TV sisters will be played by Jodi Smith (Sam), who was featured in Columbia Picture's "Fools Rush In," and has appeared on NBC's "Saturday Night Live," and "Law & Order," as well as being an on camera reporter for Fox 5, Annie Kessler (Haley), a former Michigan actor who now resides in New York City, who has performed in productions of "Guys and Dolls," Jesus Christ Superstar," and "West Side Story," among many other theatre productions and independent films. The show will also feature an amazingly gifted showcase of supporting actors, including Tony Schnur who was featured as "Ben Street" on the WB's Dawson's Creek. Savvy surfers like de la Bastide have already established their web spaces on FreeServers, which currently offers members 20 megabytes of space, custom domain names and e-mail addresses, and a host of site building and promotion tools all with no setup fee and no monthly charges. Although you can already visit the site, the "Almost Home Fan Site" will officially launch on 02/01/00. de la Bastide invites everyone interested in being a part of a hip, new independent TV show to come and help celebrate the launch, and to check out the array of Almost Home content on the website. To kick off the launch of the fansite, de la Bastide has planned a Live Online Chat Event with cast members of Almost Home. NEW PUBLIC ACCESS SHOW TO BECOME AN UNDERGROUND HIT; Almost Home Makes Its Television Debut In NY
NEW YORK, 6/19 -- Almost Home, an independent television program airing on New York's Manhattan Neighbor Network, will make its television debut on (date & time) to a NY audience.Created, written, directed and produced by Angela de la Bastide, a recent graduate of NYIT and a lifelong Long Island resident, Almost Home promises to be a heartwarming, powerful, dramatic family drama that will leave you wanting more. The program's catchy and promising premise is based around the lives of three sisters, who range in age from 16 to 29, and examines how they relate to each other and situations that arise in their lives when the eldest, Rachel Marks, an FBI agent, moves back home after escaping a painful childhood to take the place of her mother while she's away on a lengthy, prestigious law case overseas. Rachel now most deal with her middle sister's (Sam) animosity towards her, her younger sister's (Haley) growing pains, new job burdens and the family issues that had once driven her away. And just who are the talented, up and coming stars behind this hip new independent show? The show promises to incorporate enough action to even attract a strong male-based audience. In the shows creator's, Angela de la Bastide, words "Almost Home grabs you from the get-go and allows its viewer to become emotionally involved in the characters lives." It is being described as "Providence" meets "Dawson's Creeks" with a pinch of "X-Files" for flavor. All shows which writer Angela de la Bastide feel "are extremely well-written, well-acted and well executed.
